Media Gateway Control: MGCP & H.248 (MEGACO) stacks

Netbricks Megaco/H.248 stack called MGC-BRICKS H248 ™ is a source code implementation of the Megaco/H.248 Protocol. MEGACO is a protocol enabling a centralized Softswitch (or Media Gateway Controller MGC) to control Media Gateways between Voice over Packet (VOP) networks and traditional ones.Megaco Protocol is a joint work of IETF and ITU-T. It is named Megaco in IETF document and H.248 in ITU-T document, but the content is exactly the same.

Our H248 stack is compliant with IETF RFC 3525 for version 1, RFC 4566 , and ITU-T S H.248.1 for version 3. MGC-BRICKS supports the following key features for both MGC and MG sides:

- Gateway and Control Manager Application
- Support of ITU-T T.38 Fax Relay in Megaco.
- Megaco messages (including SDP session description) text encoder/decoder.
- Support of all transactions.
- Support of event/signal packages : Generic, Base Root, Tone Generator, Tone Detection, Basic DTMF Generator, DTMF detection, Call Progress Tones Generator, Call Progress Tones Detection, Analogue Line Supervision, Basic Continuity, Network, RTP, TDM Circuit.
- Megaco Finite State machine with security procedures over UDP.
- Support of multiple instances and both sides (MGC and MG) on a single system.

Netbricks MGCP stack called MGC-BRICKS MGCP is a source code implementation of the Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) protocol. MGCP is a protocol enabling a centralized "Softswitch" (or Call Agent) to control Media Gateways between Voice over Packet (VOP) networks and traditional ones.

Our MGCP stack is compliant with the following standards: RFC 3435 (MGCP 1.0bis/2705bis), RFC 2705 (MGCP 1.0), Packet Cable Call Signaling Protocol, RFC 2327 (Session Description Protocol) and includes the following key features:

Generic Application with functions to manage a Residential Gateway (GW) .
Support of ITU-T T.38 Fax Relay in MGCP.
Support of Event/Signal packages : GM, DTMF, MF, Line, Trunk, RTP, NAS.
Supplementary Services Tones, Digit Map extension, Signal list, Media format Parameter, Resource reservation.

Many CPE Interoperability certificates. Among them: Dlink IP Phone DPH-100, Polycom IPPhone 500, EyePMedia PC phone, Voipack CPE, Innomedia MTA 3308/3328/3368, Tainet CPE Venus 2804, Swissvoice IP20, Cisco IPphone 7960/2423/ata186, AAstra i480, I3Micro Vood, Inventel DV4210, Dataflex Vine, Mediatrix 1104, Telsey GAD/CPV, Tecom AH4021, BCM KG1000/HP300, Allied Telesyn RG613/RG623, LeadTek BVP8770, AudioCodes Mediant2000...

Products developed with MGC-BRICKS for VoP applications includes the following NGN equipments: Softswitches, Media Gateways and SOHO Access gateways.

MGC-BRICKS is based on NETBRICKS architecture using object oriented design and on a message passing mechanism for inter-entity communication. MGC-BRICKS is designed to interface UDP or TCP layer through the standard BSD Socket interface. Interfaces to most of commercial OS and RTOS are provided : Windows NT/2000/XP, Linux RedHat, Embedded Linux (Monta Vista), Solaris (32/64bits), OSE, VxWorks, AMX, Nucleus, PSOS+, RTC, VRTX, ...See list of supported platforms.
